Ampsandsound Leeloo Reintroduced
With the ability to tube roll, this one aims to be a flexible tube amplifier for speakers and headphones. For those that require a little more power, I’ve also been informed that a 12AX7 can be used.
If you recall, the ZMF Pendant was a rectifier tube amplifier that was first modeled after the Leeloo. Since then, the Pendant SE edition has made several changes, such as moving the Low and High Z outs to 8 and 100 ohms, respectively.
With a few extras and enhancements, such as speaker outputs on the rear, a revised choke, and a larger power supply, to mention a few, the new Leeloo is just that.
I’ve listened to it for a while, but my analysis will mostly be non-evaluative because this is a joint product with Headphones.com. However, I should point out that the enhancements have also resulted in more sensitive headphones and far improved noise floor handling. For instance, in keeping with ensuring that it is adaptable for a variety of headphonis.com I was able to operate the low impedance Focal headphones, including the closed-backs with zero noise floor.
